On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, orders that the Liquor Control and Licensing Regulation, B.C. Reg. 244/2002, is amended as set out in the attached Schedule.

1 Section 1 (1) of the Liquor Control and Licensing Regulation, B.C. Reg. 244/2002, is amended in the definition of “private special occasion” by adding the following paragraph:
(d) a competitive event for the evaluation or judging of wine, beer or cider if
(i) the licensee is an individual who is a member of and a representative for a genuine organization,
(ii) the event is organized and hosted by the organization,
(iii) attendance is limited to the organization’s members or staff, to invited guests or to persons to whom tickets have been provided, without charge, before the event, and
(iv) awards or another form of recognition are granted to the makers of the wine, beer or cider based on the evaluation or judging; .
2 Section 15 (13) is amended by striking out “paragraph (c)” and substituting “paragraph (c) or (d)”.
