This notice is published to comply with section 169 (3) of the Election Act.
Section 164 (1) of the Election Act allows for a registered political party to apply to the Chief Electoral Officer for voluntary deregistration.
The following political party has been voluntarily deregistered effective June 5, 2013:
The Progressive Nationalist Party of British Columbia
Section 168 (1) of the Election Act requires that a political party be deregistered following a general election, if for that general election and the immediately preceding general election, it was not represented by at least two candidates in one of the general elections.
The following political parties have been deregistered effective June 7, 2013, pursuant to section 168 (1) of the Act:
British Columbia Patriot Party
British Columbia Social Credit Party
Western Canada Concept Party of BC
Section 166 (1) of the Election Act requires the deregistration of a constituency association if its political party is deregistered.
The following constituency association registered under the electoral boundaries enacted in 2008 has been deregistered effective June 7, 2013, pursuant to section 166 (1) of the Act:
Abbotsford West Constituency Association British Columbia Social Credit Party
Section 166 (4) of the Election Act requires the deregistration of a constituency association for an independent Member of the Legislative Assembly if the MLA is not re-elected.
The following constituency associations registered under the electoral boundaries enacted in 2008, have been deregistered effective June 7, 2013, pursuant to section 166 (4) of the Act:
Abbotsford South Constituency Association Independent MLA John van Dongen
Cariboo North Constituency Association Independent MLA Bob Simpson
